Grateful for the late Virgil Abloh

Last Summer (2021) we were asked for a license to use our decks by Virgil Abloh to make a custom deck using our face cards and the “LV” logo for the back of the cards. Unfortunately the decks were a limited run used just for that event. We were happy to see Virgil share his vision on his Instagram account via the attached Video.

We were so inspired by Virgil’s remembrance of our cards that we decided to complete the relaunch of our decks!

We were just getting to follow Virgil’s great success in the fashion hierarchy when he passed away unexpectedly. We were heartbroken like all of Virgil’s family, friends and followers. We are forever grateful for his artistic vision to see our decks as a functional fashion item.

What’s New

We’ve kept our classic face cards. We’ve tried to restore the shading of the colors as in the original deck, but otherwise the images are the standard Images we’ve always used.

Except the Black Joker! I’ve added some shading to the Joker’s face. There were always debates about which Joker was the Big Joker and which was the small one, but maybe this will help! Please give feedback!

Also, We’ve changed the back of this deck to a Black mudcloth. We are planning on a Red Mudcloth deck as well, so stay tuned.

Return of the Classic Afrocentric Deck

Blacks Factor re-launches its classic Afrocentric Black Royalty (TM) playing cards. We’ve designed our Poker-sized decks to feature a mudcloth design in the back and an “enhanced” Black “Joker” card in the deck. We’ve done our best to return to the full color images that we had in our original decks in 1988. We have continued in our original artwork from our original designs and each face card has all the conventions of a standard deck of cards.
